some projects I have been working on...

Hope you have been working on some too and please if you want - send me a pic and I will post it on here too!
Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge for ghosts & Cuttin' Up for the word on a platter tray from Target
isn't she cute. I used stickles, stamp words from CTMH, paper from SU, peachy keen stamp face and some twine.  The witch is from Mini Monsters cartridge
Thanksgiving cartridge and along with epoxy stickers created this cute sign bought at hobby lobby for cheap.  The sign was already colored - I just added the words and stickers.  NOW you can create your OWN signs!! Martha Stewart Seasonal cake art & Printing 101 were also used
Car Decal cartridge used for the words with rub-ons created this cute sign cut from thin cardboard from Elegant Edges cartridge.  The Apple is from making the Grade cartridge.
Mini Monsters cartridge, buttons for his ears.  A dobber into ink and onto paper made a cute background under his googly eyes.  I used the SU inkpad the spectrum colors for Fall.
embossing folders and the cartridge - Mini Monsters Embossing folders are all from Cuttlebug - Swiss Dots for his body, Spots & Dots for his tummy.  Mini Monsters (is a set) for the background.
embossing folder; Thanks for the leaves and the words on box with rafia tied around the box - from Easter 2010 cartridge.   The leaf and then embossed is from a set called: Maple leaf from Cuttlebug.
A check for some employees were place inside  - another cute way to gift wrap.
paper (yummy is it not!) and vinyl words - the other side has the Happy Anniversary.... on a plain white bag. Birthday Bash cartridge used.
vinyl  (from Oh My Crafts) used on the walls in church.  Printing 101 cartridge used.   There are many more sayings in our church and more to come.   The theme is LOVE...
So... What have YOU been working on??  Would Love to see :)   Are you all ready to meet again and play???  Let me know!

look what has come to derby..... A MUST LOOK

I am copying this for my friend Michelle, from my e-mail.... so please if you know anyone - please let them know about this great e-mail you are receiving!!

Hello Crafters!

I hope everything is going well for you, and that you're healthy and enjoying this beautiful fall weather!!

I wanted to let you know about a few items that I didn't used to have, but now I do!  These are all brand-new items, at prices that are better than Black Friday!!  So, if you're thinking ahead for Christmas, they'd make wonderful gifts for mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, or even yourself!  ;-)

I have the Cricut cake machine, expression size ~ $80 without a cartridge, or $100 with a Cake Basics cartridge.

I also have the "baby" cricut cake machine (the size of a personal or create) for $55 without a cartridge, $75 with the Cake Basics.
I have a good selection of cartridges that were designed for the cake machines, all for $20 each!  These machines would be great for anyone that enjoys decorating cakes, cupcakes, etc., either professionally, or just for enjoyment!!  :-)

The 12" laminator bundle is a great little laminating machine
!  It also has the option of binding the YourStory books by "melting" a glue strip in the binder!  The "bundle" includes the machine, a heavy-duty paper trimmer with 4 different blades, 5 YourStory albums (12x12", (2) 8.5x11", 8x8", and 4x6") and 24 laminating pouches!  This entire bundle for $40!!  :-)

And, cricut gypsies - brand new in a sealed box ~ $80.  This includes 2 exclusive cartridges - gypsy font and gypsy wanderings, a USB cable, AC adaptor, gypsy slip cover, and cartridge validation code.  Additionally, I have gypsy auto-chargers for $5.

I have a fairly good size stock of all of these, so if you know anyone that may have an interest, please pass the word along; feel free to give them my email address, too!  I probably won't be ordering any more of these for a long time (they take a lot of space!), so it will be first-come, first serve.

I have a website now if you'd like to take a peek at any other items available............

Thank-you so much!

CROP for a fundraiser COMING SOON... check it out....

HI Ladies.  I have missed you all so.  So much has been going on between work, kids, vacations, Illnesses & holidays..  We haven't been able to play lately.

I wanted to let you know.. so you could mark your calendar...   Saturday, 5th Nov 2011 will be an awesome day.. NOT only because you can crop BUT you will be helping out an awesome non-profit organization that helps familes with children to young adults with disabilities. Families Together educates, assist families, is supportive and informative!  http://familiestogetherinc.org/   They are throughout the US BUT I am focusing on the Wichita office.
I personally attend enrichment weekends, various seminars BUT I am also a brand new Board Member.  I, and many of you know That we are parents with a child with a disability.. Jayden has Autism and with that comes so many issues and Families Together has helped us to understand, research and with much guidance for school and outreach areas to help and much much more!   all free....

SO... Where am I going with this..  :)  On Saturday, 5th Nov. here in Wichita (2nd & West st) We will be hosting our 1st Scrapbboking/cropping event.  All details are still in works and I promise to keep you in touch.  So I am asking you...
1 - are you interested?  cost is low and many benefits will be available that day..
2. Would you be willing to make a basket for a raffle something you make? sell? even a set of cards you make would be awesome.?    looking for giveaways too.  All of this is tax-deductible!

Carrie from greenbean caserole blog site shared this awesome GLASS ETCHING 'recipe' and I am sharing with you.

doris...so you want to try glass etching, huh?...it's super easy...and very addicting!...so you've been warned!...

first you'll need glass etching cream...i use armour etch...you can get it at michael's or joann's...so make sure you take a coupon!...because it's a little pricey...

then choose whatever surface you're wanting to etch...and clean it very throughly!...don't want anything on there like finger prints and smudges...that'll mess with the etching process...after i've cleaned...i put on gloves...that way i don't touch it accendentially...

i've done the tiles...mirrors...windows...glass doors on my entertainment center...ornaments...vases...wine glasses...glass blocks...casserole dishes...pretty much everything!...see..told you it was addicting!...

just a side note...if you're doing casserole dishes and containers like that...do not use pyrex!...it does not etch evenly..it's best to stick to the cheaper brands...like anchor...which is walmart brand...

then you'll need vinyl or contact paper and some blue painters tape...i've never used the contact paper...but i hear that people get great results with it...plus it's cheaper....

then cut your image out of the vinyl...peel away the backing...and stick to your surface...i find it much easier to use transfer tape...that way the image is all together and you don't have to worry about placing little pieces...the transfer tape is usually sold right beside the vinyl...

now...once the vinyl is placed on your surface...make sure all the edges are down...don't want anything to seep under...just keep rubbing your fingers over it...and if you're doing this without gloves...you'll want to take a paper towel and get all your smudges off...if you're doing something like the tiles...and don't want the edges etched...this is where you'll use your blue painters tape...run it all along the edge...and make sure it's tight with no lumps or bumps...

then grab your etching cream...i like to apply with a foam brush...for me...it gives the most even coating...pile on a a good amount!...you don't want to be able to really see your vinyl through the layer...make sure it's to all the egdes of the vinyl and tape...don't want any bare spots...then leave on for 5 to 10 minutes...sometimes 15...or longer if you forget about it like me!...

then with warm rinse all the cream off...peel off your tape...peel off your vinyl...and it should be all etched!...

hope i did an ok job explaining...if you have any questions...just let me know!...good luck...and i can't wait to see what you come up with!...

4 post it notes and 2 ink pads and a stamp set - how fun could this be!!

I was going through past cards and projects i made and thought this was a fun card to make. SO.. I wanted to share it with you.  POST IT NOTE were used. I believe I only used 4 sheets.  I used  2 colors of ink and a Close to my heart stamp set  ANY stamp set would be ideal...   I positioned the post it's in a design to leave a space on the card.  I then inked that area with a color.  move the post it's to different areas and switch colors.  I left a space in the middle for the highlight of my card; here it is a flag.  when the card is covered I used a tissue or a sponge and wiped the card, it kind of spreads the ink across other colors. You then use the stamps of choice where ever you choose.    Make sure you position the stamp set off the page for a more realistic look.          EASY PEESY and such an unique, fun card.

just to let you know.... BRENDA is selling... and MARGO is selling...

flower Soft... have you heard of these yet??

I was at Frozen in Time (maize rd) on saturday browsing around and saw these awesome cards that had a 3d effect....  I was in Awe and also broke...  so...  I just asked a lot of questions and drooled a bit over the awesome colors.  (can you imagine that huh??  lol)

well... the flower soft is also the name of the company.  It is a "flock" style look.  There is a glue that you put on the area of interest and you put this 'flower soft' stuff on it and it gives it an awesome awesome look!!

They had as an example a tree (autum look) and used colors of fall on these branches.  it was AWESOME...

let me know if you have used it or will try it..  :)  curious....   I someday hope to have these lil containers....

Have a fantastic 1st day of Spring tomorrow!

Doris
pss.....  check out Cricut.com for the cool AWESOME new cartridges.  that I WANT... NEED... (ya know how that goes...)

When life hands you lemons.. card by Doris

*.Cherry Limeade Cricut lite cartridge for the cup was cut at 3.25w & 3.50h.** Ctmh ink colors are kiwi & sunny yellow. ctmh cardstock is citrus leaf & sunny yellow.   The paper on the cup is from my big ol' stack of misc papers collected over time. ** I gently used sand paper from ctmh over the lemon frame. **The lemon background was embossed using the provo craft cricut embossing folders "preserve".  the little lemon was a copy of the embossed folder and just cut out.  It is painted using the Sundance color from Smooch. ** I popped up the lemon using a pop dot from Mini pop dots from all night media.  **  I used the Herringbone embossing folder from PC to emboss the straw.  ** The saying is a cute one from my hubby and a font called Alan set at 18in.
I hope you like this card.  It was fun creating for our card swap.

bandaid card made by Rosemary

using the Wild Card cartridge.  at 7.5in long using the real dial size & 5.5in wide using the real dial size.  An envelope that matches the card using the real dial size as well.  Patch on top that goes with the card  had the real dial size OFF  but same size on.  inside the card is stamps used from Clear Dollar Stamps (look on the web)

happy birthday card made by RosemaryUsing Wild Card cricut cartridge

Using the Wild Card Cartridge this 9in long x 6.25in wide with the real dial size on.  The envelope that matches the card also used the real dial size.  When doing the layers.don't use the real dial size. make sure it is turned off but is same size as the card.  You can measure the layers with the card on the gypsy before you cut them.

the variety of colors are awesome in making this card for the men in our lives!
This is the envelope.  the sizes and details for cutting this is above.  Isn't this a pretty card!

sharing a few birthday decorations using the cricut cartridges

Rock Princess Cricut cartridge used.. Close to my heart heavenly blue, cocoa and white card-stock and ink were used.   Page to Fit on my Cricut expressions was 11inches.   I planned the letters for happy birthday and Kiana on my Gypsy using the Rock Princess cartridge as well. Inside the letters of p,a,r, etc.. you get an extra cut out of an heart. (great for future use)  I made a template of the banner on my gypsy at 11inches and fit the letters so they fit nicely.   On the Cricut Rock princess overlay..  I picked #30.  Kiana wanted the peace Sign for her birthday.

oops... I had an extra piece covering the "a".. sorry :)

#9 kiana birthday age

graphically speaking cartridge.  I put this on my gypsy and slanted it on the 12x12 screen to get the most of the size to hang up on the wall.   I then took my Smooches and my stickles and a few of the close to my heart markers and went on a decorating bin of various colors....  This was fun!!   I used the cocoa and heavenly blue card stock from Close to My heart for the background.

Matthew 25;40 vinyl on wall....

Plantin Schoolbook was used.  I planned it out on my Gypsy on a 12x24 mat.  I used the black vinyl.

I pulled the excess vinyl off (picture below).  Go slow.....  weeding is then next.  I actually cut out the excess vinyl (before peeling off) as this gives me some extra vinyl for smaller projects.

see all this extra vinyl that was pulled off...  it's so sticky! making sure that the sticky vinyl is AWAY from your current project.  hint.. hint..

UP.. up.. up.. on the wall the vinyl saying went....  I still have the transfer tape attached to the vinyl saying.

see.. I'm still up there.  pull the transfer tape off very slowly.  have a credit card or use your fingers to rub the transfer tape.   take your time....

all done.  Aren't these words of Jesus beautiful!
WEEDING:  is taking the vinyl off your project (slowly) and then taking either a small needle, or any small pointy object and pulling all the extra vinyl from in between the letters 9a,'s, o,'s etc..)

swarm pic for Jan 2011 and about our weekend (14-15 Jan 2011)

we had alot of fun this month just working on projects.  I should have taken pictures (someone remind me next month :) )  Brenda worked on valentine cards which was pretty.  Nancy worked on or shall I say was working on as we all learned something this weekend about making envelopes. (yeesh)  so much paper was wasted.. Sorry Nancy ;0.  But in the end she got it figured out and it was really pretty!  Margo worked on cards she is making for make n takes.  She got alot done!  Myself, Doris worked on well a couple of cards using the Gypsy download of  Smiley cartridge.  the trashcan using the peachy keen stamps.  i will copy when finished  (yup.. that's right.. i never really finished as I was to busy talking.)
hmmmm... What was rosemary working on... I can't remember. (sorry.... I should have visited more than just talking)  remind me please.....  BUT she made this really cool vinyl name on the back of her expression.  i will post it.    As usual...  we had alot of fun. munching on goodies and learning from one another.
Nancy, Doris, Brenda, Margo, Rosemary, Stacy
the purpose of this e-mail is about the SWARM picture we took.  lol (see how easy I get sidetracked)  It will be entered into the Cricut.com Swarm pictures and hoping (fingers crossed) we will win.  As mentioned.. every month we will take a picture to be entered into the SWARM drawing.  Who knows....

Nancy made this in November.  Isn't it pretty..  I am a little behind

Rosemary made this vinyl name and design using the Cartridge on the gypsy  (Gypsy font)  I love the look!
NOTICE... the date on the picture of our group...  don't we look good for not aging......  What is up with my camera anyhow!!

Now that I am up and running with the computer.  I will be adding pics of our christmas cards this week.  If you want me to add anything just e-mail me.

Till later.. I hope and Pray that you have a safe and healthy week.
